The localization solution for your
printer mimics the functionality of the
build in firmware. However there are some functions available
in the original
firmware (provided by HP) that are as of this date not implemented
in the
localization solution. Some of these are:
Addressbook (E-mail)
Output bin selection
Borders (x pages per sheet)
Job mode
Job storage
Backside orientation
Version1.2
Stapler and Reset to Default Settings for Copy job function is available on the release of Version 1.2
To fully utilize the staple function, some points need to take note are:
- Irregardless of Printed out Paper mode, whether is it Portrait mode or Landscape mode
a. To obtain the Side staple(s) on the printed out paper, please load the paper in portrait mode on the paper tray
b. To obtain the Top staple(s) on the printed out paper, please load the paper in landscape mode on the paper tray
Version1.3
- New version of FAX UI
- Speed Dial and Address Book for Fax
Here are some limitations need to take note before using the new FAX UI:
a. Resolution option in Fax Settings is Not available
b. Search function in Speed Dial option is Not available
c. Email notification for the Fax Job is Not available
d. When a One Touch button is not assigned to a speed dial, it is shown grayed out (disabled)
user will not receive a popup message as what the original firmware version provided where it will ask user to assign the One Touch button, To do that simply click on the Configure button to assign the button directly.
e. To clear a speed dial, reselect it when it is already assigned, and go to the assign menu, which will have no
selections pressing ok at that stage will clear the button
Version1.4
- Enhancement on new FAX UI from version 1.3
Version1.5
- Significantly Improved FPO (first page out) Speed
Before installing the software make
sure you have upgraded your printer to the latest
firmware provided to you by HP. Go to the HP web site to download
the latest firmware
for your printer.
Please be aware that the localization solution is build in
a different way than the
original firmware and therefore has the following limitation:
- The reaction speed of the control pannel and its buttons is
slower than the original firmware.
- Please allow the printer to build up the next screen
you selected before pressing any other buttons.
Not doing so can cause the printer to crash into service error.
This is a well known issue to us (EPSoft and HP) and we are
working closely with HP to see if there is a solution to this
case.
- Another known issue is that although the copy quality is good
it is not as good as the original firmware.
- And also, in order for this MFP front panel localized solution to work properly in the MFP,
please make sure that the MFP is ALWAYS connected to the active network cable, otherwise it will not work accordingly.
Some of above points will be resolved in new releases but
others can't be solved due
to limitations in the availability of software development kits
provided to us by HP.
